A Thoughtful Stay - Karimoku Case // Milan Design Week

At this year’s Salone del Mobile Milano 2026, we were proud to be part of A Thoughtful Stay by Karimoku Case - an immersive installation exploring design through the lens of hospitality. Conceived as an intimate hotel, the exhibition unfolded as a sequence of atmospheres. Light, proportion, and materiality shaped a quiet sensory experience. It offered a space to slow down, to observe, and to feel.

"A Thoughtful Stay considers how we inhabit space through the lens of hospitality. At Karimoku Case, design begins with people – how we sit, move, gather, and rest. Each piece is created to support these moments, shaped by material honesty, careful proportion, and a respect for the environment it enters. Within the exhibition, furniture, light, and sound come together in dialogue. Spaces are not defined by function alone, but by atmosphere where transitions are softened, materials are allowed to age, and time becomes part of the experience."

Within this setting, a selection of our pieces has been thoughtfully incorporated into the overall composition. These include kimonos, cushions, and bed throws from Collection 002 designed by Norm Architects, alongside our Cove bed linen.

TAMEKO textiles extend this sense of calm into the everyday rituals of the room. Collection 002, developed with Norm Architects, explores a quiet, architectural softness – kimonos, cushions, and bed throws that layer gentle structure and warmth onto the interior. Our Cove bed linen, in contrast, is defined by its understated, hotel-like simplicity, offering crisp, breathable comfort designed for everyday use, both in hospitality settings and at home.

Together, these pieces reflect a shared design language between TAMEKO and Karimoku Case - where comfort is treated as a kind of architecture – built up through proportion, tone, and touch rather than overt decoration. Subtle contrasts in weave, weight, and drape allow the textiles to shift character with the light and the way they are used, making them as considered in daily rituals as they are within the curated calm of A Thoughtful Stay.

We are grateful to be included among such a considered group of collaborators.
